Pick of the Day: The Bee Hive Bowtie Earrings

The Bee Hive (Handmade Accessories and Beauty Products) created by Bee Wade on March 6, 2012 found inspiration while walking past the arts and crafts isle in Target. She knew she wanted to make something, but didn't know what. She happened to be looking for earrings that day and couldn't find anything funky, or interesting and that's when it hit her! She decided to start making her own accessories. Her bowtie earrings are one of a kind and come in various prints and colors. Cheetah, Zebra, Zebra Pink, Multi Colored (Polka dots), green, orange, blue, yellow, purple and neon pink! She is also working on bowtie rings and necklaces, she is getting ready to launch her own line of lip balms as well! They come in Mango Peach, Pink Lemonade, Very berry and All Natural baby!  I had the pleasure of meeting Bee at a fashion show and I was introduced to her creations and I placed my order the NEXT DAY!!! Check out her site for jewelry and lip balms www.thebeehive.bigcartel.com

National Natural Hair Meetup Day

The National Natural Hair Meetup Day is an annual one-day event which will be held this year on May 19, 2012. Its purpose is to allow the opportunity for women across the United States and Canada to meet in their own communities while networking, sharing and meeting (virtually) other women across the country participating in meetups on the same day. Natural hair meetups are events designed to share information, techniques, inspiration and products to aid individuals in their natural hair journey.

The purpose of the event is; to build community within the natural hair community, expand natural hair meetups into newer and/or smaller markets across the United States as, well as allow people interested in hosting meetups the opportunity to gain experience, tips and best practices from more experienced meetup hosts and organizers
During and as a result of National Natural Hair Meetup Day, attendees will be able to:
  •  Meet other naturals in their area
  • Gain exposure to natural hair product lines and companies
  • Learn the process of planning and executing a natural hair meetup (event hosts)
  • Meet natural hair and beauty bloggers and Youtube vloggers
  • Network with other natural hair meetup organizers (event hosts)
  • Discover resources, techniques, products and people that can serve as inspiration and information for the natural hair care journey

Atlanta will have two events. Details are still in the planning stages but will be on the website shortly http://nnhmd.com/

Pick of the Day: Derek Lam Coral Silk Vicose Crepe Jumpsuit

I love everything about this jumpsuit. Derek Lam was a hit during NYC fashion week,  His Spring 2012 collection features sheer metallic tailored tops, below the knee pencil skirts with mini belts, black, bone, and peppermint sea-snake large hobo and knit crochet t-shirts and skirts. Derek Lam utilized common trends for spring 2012 which include neutral colors, classic white and opaque yellows and peppermint greens. The price of this jumpsuit is rather steep $3750, so I'm on the search for one that's in my price range lol

Natural Hair Stories:New Color Hi Rez Hair Lightener #101 Blonde Burst

For over a year I've been using Dark and Lovely  "Light Golden Blonde" and coined that as my signature color. I recently received another SoftSheen-Carson product to try. On Friday I dyed my hair with the New Shade,  Hi-Rez Blonde Burst. This product is specially formulated for natural hair and its a fade-resistant permanent hair color.

I wasn't surprised that I LOVED this one even more because Hi Rez features Quadro-Conditioning which adds: Maximum conditioning ,Vitality and Shine. My hair was extremely soft once I rinsed my hair of the dye and I never experienced that before.  The blonde is poppin just how I like it, soft, and shiny. I definitely recommend this product!
Accentuate your signature beauty and style with vibrant color. Make the ultimate statement with Hi Rez.

The Audacity Fashion Fix

Last night I had the pleasure of attending The Audacity Fashion Fix, this event consisted of an Industry Mixer, Runway Show and After Hour. The Audacity showcased local designers and boutiques on the runway such as; Sylvia Mollie (Kenya Freeman), BriJoir Boutique, The Pink Zebra Boutique and Whitley Denise (Irving Chase). Rafael Cox from Season 9 Project Runway, The Audacity’s very own Planet Jag (Jorita Johnson) and The Real C. Mar (Chiquita Martin).

This fabulous event was hosted by Samone from Kore Magazine. Attendees were able network, and shop from vendors such as The Pink Zebra Boutique, Free by Passion for Creation, Seen Global, and BriJoir Boutique. It was a lovely combination of fashion and networking. Check out some of the haute pics from the event below!
