Not so HAUTE.... Model Misconceptions

This post contains many of my personal thoughts some of which have been discussed before but I felt compelled to revisit this topic after recently watching a behind the scenes of a music video, where the director instructed the “models” to thrust their hips and focus attention towards the rapper. I don’t understand why any respectable woman would want to be categorized as a video model, you dance around in a video as a senseless creature, let rappers throw money on you, objectify you etc. Let me clearly define what a real model is again:: A model is a person who is employed for the purpose of displaying and promoting fashion clothing or other products and for advertising or promotional purposes or who poses for works of art. Fashion modeling may involve catwalk or runway modeling or editorial modeling, covering photography for magazine spreads, ad campaigns, catalogues, print etc.

This is a major problem in Atlanta standing in a video looking pretty doesn’t make you a model, your just a pretty girl. Which brings up another issue, before you label yourself a model build a portfolio:Here an e-how on how to build an effective Portfolio PLEASE TAKE NOTE NONE ARE PICTURES IN A BATHROOM http://www.ehow.com/how_155_together-modeling-portfolio.html

Please UNDERSTAND no one will respect you until you respect yourself. YOU SET THE STANDARDS!!!!
