Jasmine Burke is more than just another pretty face. Jasmine has been earning her strips working nonstop in some of Hollywood’s hottest TV shows and blockbuster movies. You have seen her in the following movies/shows: The CW hit "Vampire Diaries", Lifetime's "Army Wives", Lifetime special movie "Acceptance," and the season finale of “Drop Dead Diva." Jasmine has also Co-Starred alongside Angie Stone in Robert Townsend‘s "Musical Theater of Hope" and "The Secret Life of Bee's" with Queen Latifah , Dakota Fanning and Alicia Keys

Jasmine sat down with me to discuss her haute fashion sense and future projects Enjoy Below:

Arkeedah: How did you get involved in Acting?
Jasmine: I have been acting since I was a little girl. In school plays and local theater around Atlanta. In High School I was voted most talented and dubbed "Miss Drama Queen" because I was everything drama club and won my schools first ever "Best Actress" award in the State drama competition. It was a big deal and was such an emotional moment. I told myself this is what it's going to be like when I win my first Oscar.

Arkeedah: Which has been your favorite character that you have performed?
Jasmine: I have had the pleasure of not being type cast as just the "pretty token black girl". I've had the chance to show my comedy chops in projects like "Big Momma's House: 3" and Tyler Perry's "Meet the Browns" as well as my super dramatic skills in indie hits like "Mississippi Damned" and Robert Townsend's "Musical Theater of Hope", just to name a few. I like possessing that versatility.

Arkeedah: What kind of roles do you prefer?
Jasmine: I love comedic roles. It comes natural. But I also love having to dig deep and turn myself inside out to get to the truth of a character for dramatic roles. I just love working!

Arkeedah: What has been your biggest achievement in the field of acting?
Jasmine: Just to be a working actor is an achievement in itself! Lol. All praise goes to God that I have worked consistently for the past 5 years as an actor and an actor alone! I am very grateful for every opportunity I have had to show my talent and to have worked with all of the incredible legends, directors, producers etc. And that's how I look at life. I want to always stay growing and building. I'm an actors actors, it's about the work for me.

Arkeedah: Who is your favorite actor/actress?
Jasmine: My favorite actors are Betty Davis, Joan Crawford, Lana Turner, Diahn Carroll, Sisley Tyson, Loretta Divine. All insanely talented, classic ladies of the big screen and television. When I think of them I think of their work and how great they were with their gift. That's what I admire and inspire to be.

Arkeedah: Are you working on any current projects?
Jasmine: Currently I am promoting Big Momma's House:3 which will be out at the top of the year, I'm so excited about this movie because I go head to head with a comedy legend, Martin Lawrence, and at the end of the day earned his respect and praise. I'm also continuing to promote a film that I wrote, produced and directed entitled "Lucky Lotto" which won this year at Women in Film and Television International Film Festival. I also won an achievement in directing for "Lucky Lotto" at WIFTA this year. I'm also getting ready to launch my Non-Profit, No Bully Zone Inc. I'm really excited about it because my philanthropy work is just as important to me as my career and I believe my initiative with NBZ is really going to change some lives.

Arkeedah: I must say you have great fashion sense; do you have any favorite designers?
Jasmine: I love fashion because of my mother who is the ultimate fashionista. I'm really trying to keep up with her. Lol. We are a team and go to great lengths for fashion. We get a lot of things made, we vintage shop, shop at thrift stores, etc. We'll mix a little something from here and patch it together with something from there. I like whatever catches my eye, high end to second hand.
